Margaret (Atwood) is a classic cardigan knitted from top to bottom with raglan increases.
\nThe cardigan is knitted in stripes but would also look beautiful in a solid color.<\/p>\n

Margaret is knit from the top, where you knit back and forth with increases at the beginning and end of the row to shape the neckline. Simultaneously, increases are made at the 4 raglan markers to shape the shoulders. Once the neck and shoulders are shaped, the work is divided into body and sleeves. The stitches for the sleeves are placed on a stitch holder, and the front and back pieces are joined while casting on stitches for the armholes. After that, the body is knit in one piece and finished with a ribbed edge at the bottom.
