Apple Tree Sweater

The Apple Tree Sweater is a soft and fluffy sweater filled with apple trees and a high turtleneck. The sweater is worked top-down in Fat Mohair. The apple trees are knitted in intarsia, while the apples are small red beads.

The sweater is knitted from the top, starting with the back and then the front piece.
The back begins with short rows to shape the shoulders, then continues straight down while increases form the armholes. After the armholes, the lower back section is knitted and finished with a ribbed edge. Next, the front pieces are knitted, also with short rows to shape the shoulders and increases for the neckline and armholes, followed by the lower part of the front, ending with a rib edge. Stitches are then picked up for the sleeves, and short rows are worked to shape the sleeve cap. The sleeves are knitted in the round with decreases at the underside of the sleeve. Finally, a tall turtleneck is knitted at the neckline.

The sweater is knitted in intarsia following a chart, while the beads are attached as you go with a crochet hook. You can find a free photo tutorial on knitting with beads here.

We have also put together KITs for the Apple Tree Sweater, which you can find here.
