Bertha is a beautiful blouse with a delicate neckline. The blouse is worked top down in our fantastic Merino Yak held double. The design features saddle shoulders and short sleeves worked in reverse stockinette stitch, while the body is worked in stockinette stitch.
First, the two shoulder pieces are worked. Stitches are then picked up along these to work the back first and then the front piece. When the armholes are shaped with increases, the work is joined and the body is knitted in the round. The body is finished with a wide twisted rib hem. Stitches are picked up around the armhole, and the sleeve cap is shaped using short rows. The sleeve is then worked in the round and finished with decreases and a garter stitch edge.
Finally, a garter stitch edge is worked at the neckline.
