The Cayenne Cardigan is worked from the top down. It is knitted flat with raglan increases as well as neckline increases. Once the yoke is complete, the work is divided into body and sleeves. The sleeve stitches are placed on stitch holders while the fronts and back are joined, and stitches are cast on at the underarms. When the body has reached the desired length, it is finished with a ribbed hem. The sleeves are then worked and finished with an i-cord edging. Stitches are picked up along the front edges, and a contrasting edging is worked. Finally, a ribbed neckband is knitted. This is shaped with short rows to create a raised collar at the back of the neck.
