Fairytale Cardigan

The Fairy Tale Cardigan is a soft, lightweight cardigan knitted top-down in Handdyed Fat Mohair. The cardigan features a V-neckline and is filled with lots of small, enchanting pattern motifs that intertwine like a fairytale.

The cardigan is worked top-down, starting with the back piece and then one front piece at a time. The shoulders are shaped with short rows on both the back and the fronts, and the body is finished with a ribbed hem. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves, which are shaped with short rows for the sleeve cap. Then the sleeves are worked in the round and finished with a ribbed cuff. Finally, a garter stitch front band with buttonholes is knitted.

The entire cardigan is worked in colorwork from charts. Since the whimsical patterns consist of many small motifs, the intarsia technique is also used.
