Merino Yak is a wonderfully soft single-ply yarn consisting of 70% superfine merino and 30% yak, with a yardage of 500 meters/100g.
Yak wool comes from the yak and is characterized by its exceptional softness and high thermal insulation. Yak wool is incredibly light yet also durable. Combined with the soft superfine merino, it creates a luxurious and very comfortable knit, perfect for garments worn close to the skin.
Merino Yak is a very soft yarn spun from a single strand. This gives the yarn exceptional softness and an airy structure. The combination of yak and merino wool provides a silky-soft texture that is gentle even on the most sensitive skin.
Merino Yak is excellently suited for most types of garments and accessories. It can advantageously be knitted together with a companion thread such as our Silk Mohair.
We recommend knitting needle size 3 – 4 mm with one strand (23 – 26 st/10 cm) and knitting needle size 5 – 6 mm with double strand (16 – 18 st/10 cm).
